Update: Sunday, April 25, 10 pm

Haven't updated in a while because there was really nothing to report. Now there is...

Mom is back at MD Anderson. The tests and scans she had last week showed another infection, and before it developed into something worse, her doctors wanted to get a jump on the antibiotic treatment. She still has the drain for the other infection, and that abscess is still there but apparently a little smaller. I think the doctors will decide this week if another procedure is necessary to reposition the drain. We guess that Mom will be at MDA for a week or so. She's in room 1061. She'll go back to St. Joseph Manor when she's released, though perhaps not to the same room since she had to move out (they don't allow residents to leave overnight, so she got the boot).

Food for thought -
Mom hasn't slept in her own bed since early January. Even then it was only for a couple of weeks over the holidays. Its been five very long months since the "November Event." But of course she still has that great attitude that we all know and love. I know that sometimes its easy to "forget" loved ones and friends when they are out of sight and life moves on, or you don't want to "bother" your loved one when they are ill, afraid that you are interrupting or disturbing them with a call or visit. I'm guilty myself all of the time. Mom would LOVE to continue to hear from all of you when you get a chance, and has so very much appreciated ALL of the visits, calls, support and prayers over the past several months! She absolutely adores her friends and family. You all know her well enough to know that she never passes up an opportunity to visit and it really lifts her spirits, which is so important right now. With everything she's been through one can't help but wonder if its chipping away at that spirit and constant optimism and cheeriness that we have taken for granted with her. Just please continue to keep her in your thoughts.
