Happy Thanksgiving!

Our family hope you and yours have had a wonderful Thanksgiving today!

Dad and I went back to Bryan to have Thanksgiving lunch with my brother, sister in law, nephews and niece. It was a great celebration, but it wasn't the same without Mom. Fortunately we were able to talk with her by phone, and she sounded the best she has thus far. It really cheered her up to hear from us and to say hello, especially to the grandkids who missed their Grammie. She also got to talk with her mom, sister and brother today, and I'm sure the "great to hear your voice" feeling was mutual.

After lunch, Dad and I came back to Houston to see Mom. She said its her best day yet as far as how she was feeling. She still looks and sounds great. She is being turned in her bed every three hours or so, and I'm sure the different laying positions are a nice change from being on her back, which she has been for almost two weeks. Her hands are noticeably less swollen, and she didn't get out of breath while talking with us. She is coughing, but that is good. And we noticed she has been removed from a handful of IV bags.

She thought she might be moved out of CCU/ICU today, but that didn't happen and probably won't for at least a couple more days. She had two minor bleeding episodes which again have been deemed as unalarming. Mom said the doctor doesn't even want to do another procedure, no matter how minor, right now. Hopefully one won't be needed period.

When we left, Mom was gearing up to watch the Aggie game. She might not have gone to A&M but she is a true Aggie!

So happy Grammie got to talk to the grandbabies - that's great medicine with healing power! Glad she was able to talk with other family-I'm sure "great to hear your voice" brought comfort both directions.
I'm praying for a blessed, restful weekend for all of you. Hugs/LOL!! Brenda :)
