Update: Saturday, Feb 20, 2:55 pm

I'm very sorry for the delay between posts. I guess last week moved along much quicker than I recalled because I was sure I posted last week. Regardless...

Mom did have another bleeding episode yesterday morning. She was in a physical therapy session when it suddenly happened. She received four units of blood and underwent an interventional radiology procedure to identify where the bleeding was coming from. Nothing was found, for by the time she had the procedure the bleeding had stopped and clotted itself off. She had some residual bleeding this morning but it looks to be "old" blood. Vitals remain good, she is stable and alert and talking. In fact we are watching the Olympics right now and playing armchair judge. This is no where near the episode in November. She will be in ICU at MDA until tomorrow.

Needless to say this has delayed her release plans, for how long is anyone's guess. And will this be the last bleeding episode? Probably not. The radiation damage has really weakened and compromised mom's tissue, bone and vessels in that area of her body. We are certainly hopeful that nothing else will ever happen but now we know what to expect and can hopefully get her the care she needs immediately without completely freaking out.

I promise to keep you better posted during this time.
